White Shark Diving For Everyone!

Now everyone can get "up close and personal" with the ocean's ultimate predator-The Great White Shark. San Diego Shark Diving Expeditions is offering anyone over the age of 12 a chance to view these huge predators from the safety of our custom designed shark cages. We will have an instructor teach you how to safely breathe from our hookah regulators so that you can now join us on our very successful Great White Shark expeditions to Isla Guadalupe. This is a great opportunity for families, friends, and non-scuba certified individuals to participate on these exciting trips. A minimum of restrictions will apply, please call for details.

Join us on this very special West Coast White Shark Expedition aboard the Andrea Lynn. This is a limited load trip, we are only taking 20 lucky divers on a boat that normally handles many more passengers. Accommodations are in double occupancy staterooms each with its own private head and shower. There is plenty of extra storage space for gear and camera equipment. The Andrea Lynn is 130 ft long and is the largest live aboard dive vessel on the West Coast. It has 3 decks. A sundeck, restaurant/salon and full bar with a dedicated bar tender to create your favorite cocktails, and the spacious main deck that even has a hot tub to ease the chill away from the day's diving.

*Price includes: Accommodations in double occupancy stateroom with private head/shower, meals, snacks, sodas, bottled water, a daily bottle of Great White beer, and a glass of "house" wine with dinners, all diving, weight system, RT bus transport San Diego-Ensenada-San Diego, and reserve permits.

*  Does not include: airfare, hotel, gear rental, cocktails, Mexican Beers, premium wines, souvenirs, or crew gratuities. Mexican tourist entry visa ($25)

*  Satellite phone calls-available at nominal cost
*  Note: A fuel surcharge may be imposed if diesel prices spike, but will be capped at a max of $75 per passenger.

*  Trip cancellation insurance advised-available from your local travel agent

I was on an exploratory trip in Oct. 2000 and saw an honest 18 footer. The animal was huge. It must have been 6 ft. across the widest part. There will be a 24 ft panga for those who would like to cruise near the shore of the island and take surface photos of the Elephant Seals, Guadalupe Fur Seals, and California Sea Lions. We will begin chumming as soon as we get to the island.

Guadalupe Is. is 210 mi. SSW of San Diego and 144 mi. offshore on the
Pacific side of the Baja Peninsula. Water temperatures at this time of year should be in the mid to high 60s and visibility is often 80-100 ft. The transit form Ensenada to Isla de Guadalpe will take about 20 hours.

We will be using "hooka regs" (long hosed regulators connected to the boat's air bank system) so you only need to bring your wetsuit/drysuit, booties, hood, gloves, and mask.

Divers will board the large coach in San Diego at 7:30 AM for the ride down to Enxenada, Mexico where we'll board the boat.. The boat will depart around 12:00 noon. That should get us to Guadalupe Is. around 8:30AM the next morning. We'll have until around 4 PM on the last day at the island to dive before our return to Ensenada. The boat should arrive around 2:00 PM on the last trip day. The 5-day itinerary will give us 3 full days at the island and the 7-day trip gives us 5 full divig days at Guadalupe. At 3:00 PM you'll board the bus for the return to San Diego. We should get back to San Diego around 6:00 PM. We recommend that if you are flying, to book your reutrn flight the next day.
