Guadalupe Is. is 210 mi. SSW of San Diego and 144 mi. offshore on
the Pacific side of the Baja Peninsula. Water
temperatures at this time of year should be
in the mid 60-70s and visibility is often 80-100 ft.
The transit form Ensenada to Isla de Guadalpe will take about 19
hours.
We will be using "hooka regs" (long hosed
regulators connected to the boat's air bank system) The Islander provides all dive gear but you are welcome to bring your wetsuit/drysuit, booties, hood, gloves, and mask. Note: those wishing to use the submersible cage must be "experienced" scuba certified divers.
For the 2011 season the Islander will depart from its slip at Fishermen" Landing in Pt. Loma at 10 pm the night before the first trip day. Passengers may board the vessel at 7 PM. This will save everyone a hotel night in San Diego. The boat will slowly cruize down to Ensenada to check-in with Mexican officials first thing in the morning. That should get
us to Guadalupe Is. early the next morning.
We'll have until around 12 PM on the last day
at the island to dive before our return to Ensenada and onward to San Diego.. The 5-day itinerary
will give us 2 1/2 days at the island at Guadalupe. The boat should
arrive into back into Ensenada around 10:00 AM on the last trip day and into San Diego around 6 PM.. We recommend that if you are flying, to book your
reutrn flight the next day.
Islander shark guarrantee:
"Our 2011 shark diving schedule is at the height of the Guaddalupe White Shark season. The trip dates in September and October were chosen with only one thing in mind- the best opportunity to see Great Whtie Sharks. In fact, we're so confident in our ability to find Great White Sharks that we guarantee you'll see White Sharks or you can join us again for free!"
